The Clear Light of the Mind is Being and Knowing free from attachment to any content.

The Clear Light of the Mind is always there, but must be realized by the self-aware human being. In order to realize who we are we must deconstruct our program. Our programming is conditioning imposed on us by others regarding who and what we are and should be. After the separation of self from other (completed around 18 months of age) gender identity is the strongest and deepest split in the psyche induced by cultural conditioning. We must learn to differentiate self-awareness from this and all cultural programming. The most difficult task is to dis-identify with the culturally induced gender roles and free the self from this restrictive influence. When we have recognized and differentiated awareness from all parts of self we are left with our true nature – The Clear Light of the Mind. Only then can we find a harmonious relationship with a larger whole.

In this book the model for growth beyond feminine and masculine is the Good Enough Mother and the Good Enough Father. We re-parent ourselves and each other by integrating feminine attention and masculine intention. Parenting, not marriage, is the foundation of the new culture. Individual and cultural transformation is necessary. Self and story go together. Psychological development is dependent on healthy stories and beliefs shared by the culture. Stories embody our shared beliefs, give meaning to our world, and tell us who we are. They hold the culture together. We can create new stories that synthesize existing knowledge, have a more inclusive perspective, and a view of all human beings evolving to whole and healthy being and knowing.

The old stories are based on assumptions and beliefs. Our new stories will be too, but they can help differentiate our consciousness from all mental content and integrate masculine and feminine qualities. The story that I am telling in this book is about feminine being, masculine knowing, and creative bliss. The story starts like this:

The first act is the best act and it is a compassionate one. Without compassion there would be nothing. The overflowing abundant love is the creative act. The infinite mystery is sufficient onto Itself, yet it flows out because of a desire to share and celebrate. The effulgent nature of the Great Thought flows out and separates into infinite variety and possibility without anything being lost. Each part is important to the whole. The infinite mystery divides into Being and Knowing. The three aspects of consciousness with form are Being, Knowing, and Bliss….. (the story continues on page 212).

The global brain has arrived in the form of the worldwide web; it needs a healthy global mind to use it well or it will be used as another tool of the PAC mindset. To help facilitate the linking of groups, I invite groups working on going beyond feminine and masculine to come to the IPF Forum and post their meetings; here we can begin to share our ideas and help each other discover what is working and what isn’t. We can link up worldwide and learn from each other. We can create a global community and a global mind that is healthy, mature, and efficacious.
